The bane of my existence - people who don't update Windows

To be honest, the updates themselves are pretty great, it's just the way that they are done that sucks.

It's a pain in the ass. I like windows 7, just annoying.

YES
And the little "Updates have been completed on your computer, it'll restart in 10 minutes unless you postpone" is obnoxious

They got even worse with Windows 8, some of the update restarts are mandatory. The only way to prevent it from automatically restarting your computer (no postpone ability) is to not install the updates at all.

OUCH.
I hope this is a tad more under control in 10.
I just thankfully swapped my wife's old laptop over from Vista to 7. I'm integrating it into my home network and I was refusing to accept the idea of integrating a Vista computer to my awesome home network.

Oh man, tell me about it. I remember having to do the same thing when 7 came out and wouldn't play well with Vista.
8.1 is really a step forward, if you can get past the bad UI. Things like universal Bitlocker support, contextual search, the reduction in resource usage and improved Windows Defender (functioning as an actual antivirus, and a damn good one!) is worth it.

nice.
I've got a pretty massive home network I'm building out in my house and windows 7 is kind of a key component. bumping to 8 would make me almost start over. I'll probably only upgrade when 10 is out on everything.
Here's my setup for reference:

God, don't even get me started on that.
-My computer is running kind of slow. I think something happened to it.
-Yep, looks like a virus or some malware hosed your system. Old too. When did you last updated Windows? They patched this vulnerability a long time ago.
-Oh, I never updated Windows. It's such a hassle.
*Holds tongue and resists calling them a lazy fucking retard, even though WU handles everything automatically*
